The Role: As the Community Outreach Coordinator, you'll be the face of the program in the community. This is a people job at its core. You'll build relationships with shelters, VA programs, local businesses, and partner agencies so that every Veteran who needs help gets connected to it. You'll also lead a small outreach team of two. Some days you'll be presenting to a community group. Other days you'll be meeting a Veteran on the street and making sure they get to Intake that week.
What You'll Do: Coordinate the outreach team's schedule, field coverage, community events, and partner visits Guide and support two Outreach Specialists day to day Do street outreach and follow-up visits to find and engage Veterans experiencing homelessness Build strong relationships with VA programs, shelters, and community partners Present the program at community meetings and partner agencies Make warm handoffs to Intake and Case Management and follow referrals through Help with housing inspections when needed (training provided)Keep outreach logs and referral tracking accurate
What You Bring: Bachelor's degree preferred, and equivalent experience is valued Experience in outreach, community engagement, or human servicesA natural relationship builder who's comfortable talking with anyone Strong scheduling and organization skills Valid driver's license and reliable transportation People with lived experience of homelessness, housing instability, or military service are strongly encouraged to apply. Veteran preference applies. Schedule Full-time. You'll start with 3 to 4 weeks of paid training in the office. After that, the role is hybrid, split between field and remote work, with a minimum of 32 in-office hours per month (typically one day a week). A work phone and laptop are provided.
