Senior Financial Analyst The Budget Office at the State University of New York (SUNY) Oneonta seeks a Senior Financial Analyst to serve as a senior analytical resource within the Budget Office. Reporting to the Director of University Budget & Financial Planning, the position plays a key role in supporting the University's financial operations, planning efforts, and process improvement initiatives through data-driven analysis and strategic decision support. The successful candidate will provide advanced financial analysis and decision-support services to University leadership and will be responsible for monitoring and analyzing budget activity across all University funds. This position independently identifies financial trends, investigates discrepancies, develops recommendations, and supports institutional planning, resource allocation, and long-term fiscal sustainability. The incumbent will also lead and support process improvement initiatives, workflow enhancements, and reporting solutions that increase operational efficiency, strengthen internal controls, and reduce duplicate data entry.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field. Minimum of four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in budgeting, budget development, forecasting, financial reporting, budget control, financial modeling, analytical decision support, financial analysis, financial planning, accounting, or related financial administration functions. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel. Demonstrated ability to analyze complex financial information and communicate findings effectively to both financial and non-financial audiences.
