Serving as the primary on-site authority, the full-time salaried Data Center Services Mechanical Engineer Metro Lead will manage mechanical and HVAC-related engineering questions during the construction phase, ensuring optimal installation and integration of cooling infrastructures in a remote-eligible role.
Key responsibilities: Act as the definitive technical resource for mechanical contractors and Engineers of Record (EORs), supporting mechanical system design and maintaining construction momentum Perform periodic site walk-throughs to verify mechanical installations align with engineered specifications, focusing on pressure testing and equipment placement Lead the field-side RFI process to resolve spatial or mechanical conflicts, providing immediate engineering solutions and collaborating with cross-functional teams
Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field 10 years of experience with thermal topology, including evaporative and non-evaporative cooling systems 10 years of experience with piping and fluid dynamics, including chilled water plant overviews and hydronic balancing 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering General understanding of electrical systems for effective cross-discipline collaboration
