Location: Ann Arbor, MIAssignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule/Shift: This position requires night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM and every other weekend. Candidates should be available for Thanksgiving and one of the other winter holidays.

Job Description: The Surgical Step Down Unit (2 East) is a high-acuity, fast-paced environment catering to patients recovering from surgical procedures. The role involves providing care to patients who require close monitoring and are transitioning from intensive care.

Responsibilities: Care for patients post-surgery, monitoring vital signs and responding to changes in patient conditions. Administer medications and manage IV infusions including Heparin, Insulin, Nitro, Amiodarone, and Cardizem. Provide wound care and management for drains, including wound vacs, chest tubes, and other associated devices. Perform nursing assessments and document patient care in the electronic health record. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive patient care. Required

Experience: Strong background in critical care or intensive care settings is preferred. Experience with high-acuity patient populations.

Certifications/Licensure: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license is required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
