Bus MonitorLocation: TransportationQualifications: High School Diploma or EquivalentAbility to verbally communicate clearly with students, drivers, school officials and parentsPass alcohol and drug screeningPass criminal history background checkPerformance Responsibilities: Assist the bus driver with pickup and delivery of studentsAssist students in boarding and exiting the busFacilitate a feeling of safety and security to transported studentsAssist students with physical or health limitations while riding the busLifts children as requiredOperates equipment, including wheelchairs, tie-downs, seat belts, harnesses, mechanical lift and other adaptive equipment as necessaryAssist driver in assuring seat belts, harnesses and wheel chair clamps are secured as requiredMust not allow students to enter or leave the bus while it is in motionResponsible for reasonable behavior of students while bus is in transitMust not allow students to thrust their heads or arms out of open windowsMust not leave the bus while students are inside, except in the case of an emergencyMust check the bus to ensure no student is left behind on board unattended at the end of the routeAssist driver in assuring disciplinary reports are completed properlyDemonstrates regular attendance and punctualityMust notify the bus driver when you will be absent from riding the busMust meet the driver at designated location at designated timeMust refrain from the use of cell phones or any other electronic device, unless in emergency situationsComplete and submit to Transportation all required reports and informationManage students in a positive and effective wayAttend assigned workshops and training programsPerform other duties as assigned by the Director of Transportation or designeeReports To: Operations ManagerSalary Range: Twelve-month year.
