Role Description:
The Associate Attorney will be a full-time, Remote or on site. Day-to-day responsibilities include meeting with clients(Virtually or in Person), assessing legal needs, And providing informed guidance on family law. The role involves drafting pleadings, motions, agreements, and correspondence; conducting legal research; and preparing for and attending hearings, mediations, and negotiations. The Associate Attorney will collaborate with other attorneys and staff to develop case strategies, manage case files, and ensure timely, accurate communication with clients and courts. This position also includes maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws, participating in firm meetings, and contributing to a positive and professional office culture.
Qualifications:
Ability to provide clear, practical Legal Advice to clients, including explaining legal options and potential outcomes.
Proficiency in legal Research, including case law, And statutes.
Effective Negotiation skills for resolving disputes, participating in settlement discussions, and advocating for client interests.
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active license to practice law in Virginia (or ability to obtain promptly).Strong written and oral communication skills, including precise drafting and confident courtroom presence.
High level of professionalism, discretion, and ethical judgment, with a client-centered approach.
Ability to manage multiple cases, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively within a small firm environment.
Prior experience or demonstrated interest in family law is preferred.
