Job Title The position involves setting up and operating compression presses to produce molded parts in compliance with established safety regulations and Standard Operating Instructions (SOIs).
Responsibilities: Spray molds with lubricant as required. Operate compression presses. Assemble and weigh preps according to molding specifications. Load prep into mold per molding specifications. Close mold and initiate the cure cycle. Unload cured parts. Visually inspect parts for defects according to inspection standards. Trim, inspect, and pack as required by finishing specifications. Record required information on reports. Machinery, Equipment & Tools Used Compression presses, molds, hoist, spray guns, air hose, various hand tools (scissors, awls, wrenches, brass hand tools, knives).Materials, Process Parts & Finished Products Used Rubber compounds, fabric, lubricant, inserts, cured parts, tape, cardboard cartons, bags.
Qualifications: No prior experience required. Ability to read and comprehend SOIs, safety regulations, and inspection standards. Ability to operate multiple presses with different processes.
Physical Requirements: While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is required to: Continuously walk, stand, and hear (more than 6 hours per 8-hour workday). Frequently talk; use hands and fingers to handle; reach with hands and arms (up to 6 hours per 8-hour workday). Occasionally lift up to 30 lbs. (less than 2 hours per 8-hour workday).
Work Environment: Safety shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection are required. Heat-resistant gloves are required for certain jobs. The ambient temperature in the work environment during the summer months can exceed 100 degrees. Exposure to extreme surface temperatures on molds. Remote work is not allowed.
