Project Manager – Commercial Construction Location: Syracuse, NY
Job Type: Full-Time, On-Site
Salary: $120,000–$150,000 annually

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager – Commercial Construction to join an established general contracting and construction management organization in Syracuse, New York. This opportunity offers the chance to work with a well-established construction team that values quality workmanship, long-term client relationships, collaboration, and community development. The organization provides commercial construction services across multiple project phases, from pre-construction planning and budgeting through execution, closeout, and warranty support.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning and Management: Manage all phases of commercial construction projects, from pre-construction through final completion and closeout. Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, scopes of work, procurement plans, and documentation. Coordinate subcontractor selection, buyout, contract negotiations, purchasing, and material procurement. Monitor project progress and proactively address scheduling conflicts, delays, and resource requirements. Prepare and manage submittals, requests for information (RFIs), change orders, and other project documentation.
Qualifications:
  • Three to five years of experience managing commercial construction projects.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong understanding of commercial construction, general contracting, subcontractor coordination, and project delivery.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, structural drawings, construction documents, and complete plan sets.
  • Knowledge of construction materials, methods, equipment, and building processes.
  • Experience with project scheduling, budgeting, cost forecasting, procurement, and contract administration.
  • Understanding of construction accounting principles, financial controls, risk management, and contractual obligations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction project management and scheduling software.

  • The annual salary for this position is between [$120,000 – $150,000]. Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
