Outside Machinist

Key Responsibilities: Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of shipboard machinery and mechanical systems. Work with precision tools such as height gauges, calipers, and vibration indicators. Set up and operate various portable machine tools. Interpret and apply blueprints, sketches, and specifications. Conduct testing and inspection of machinery during dock and sea trials. Collaborate with supervisors and project teams to maintain quality and safety standards.

Qualifications: Secret clearance required. High school diploma, GED, or graduate of a relevant trade/military school. Minimum 6 years of experience as a Marine Equipment Mechanic or Journeyman. Proficient in hydraulic systems, machinery alignment, and vibration analysis. Familiarity with shipboard equipment such as propelling machinery, valves, pumps, and auxiliary systems. Must provide personal toolset (including wrenches, pliers, screwdrivers, etc.) and PPE.Current OSHA-10, respirator medical screening, and DBID badge required.
