We're partnered with an industry leading consulting firm to identify a Project Controls Cost Specialist to support engineering and construction projects.
Responsibilities: Develop, maintain, and monitor project budgets, cost forecasts, and financial performance across multiple engineering and construction projects. Track project expenditures, commitments, and actual costs to identify variances against established budgets. Prepare and maintain cost reports, cash flow projections, and estimates at completion. Analyze project cost performance and identify potential risks, trends, and opportunities for cost improvement. Support project managers in developing project budgets, cost estimates, and resource forecasts. Monitor project progress and evaluate cost performance against established project baselines. Assist with change management, including tracking change orders, evaluating cost impacts, and maintaining change logs. Coordinate with project managers, engineering teams, and construction personnel to collect and validate project cost information. Support Earned Value Management (EVM) reporting and analysis as required. Assist in the preparation of proposals, project estimates, and financial reporting for internal and client review. Participate in project meetings to communicate cost performance, budget variances, and forecast updates. Maintain accurate project cost records and ensure compliance with company procedures and client reporting requirements.
Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, Business, or a related field.3 to 10 years of project controls, cost engineering, or cost management experience within an engineering or construction environment. Experience with project budgeting, cost tracking, forecasting, and variance analysis. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with project controls or cost management software. Working knowledge of project schedules, cost structures, and construction project lifecycles. Experience with Primavera P6, SAP, Oracle, or similar project management systems is preferred. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem solving skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate effectively with engineering, construction, and project management teams.
