This position is open in United States & CanadaRole Overview: The Pricing Tools team builds and maintains the tools that make it easier, faster and more reliable to bring insurance pricing programs to marketWe are seeking a Senior Developer to drive the design, build and implementation of complex Pricing Tools that solve root business problemsYou will lead complex projects and coordinate work across team members, partner teams and stakeholdersYou will set technical standards and mentor junior analysts and developers through code review and design guidanceThe role combines hands-on Python and cloud application development with deep learning of the Insurance Pricing domainKey Responsibilities: Serve as a Senior Developer on Pricing Tools initiatives – drive the design, build and implementation of complex tools that improve the ease of bringing pricing programs to marketLearn the Insurance Pricing domain in depth – create effective tools that solve root business problemsImprove and automate processes – speed up product deployment and increase the reliability of bringing pricing programs to marketArchitect for resiliency and sustainability – design tools and lead by example using Python, application development and cloud best practicesLead complex projects – coordinate work across team members, partner teams and stakeholdersEstablish and promote technical standards – including coding practices, testing strategies, documentation and maintainability expectationsResearch and recommend – new technologies, development practices and process improvements that support current and future Pricing Tool needsIdentify gaps and blockers – automation gaps, delivery blockers, technical debt and opportunities to improve team effectivenessMentor and guide – provide technical guidance to more junior analysts and developers, including code review and support on complex design or implementation challengesCandidate Profile:5+ years of Python experienceGit, GitHub and CI/CD experience required; GitHub Actions experience preferredLinux and bash experience requiredExperience in Agile development requiredStrongly preferred: user-facing Streamlit or Flask app experienceStrongly preferred: Docker experiencePreferred: experience developing via EC2 or other cloud computePreferred: experience deploying EKS or Kubernetes appsPreferred: Insurance Pricing or Compliance experiencePreferred: experience on a Data Science or Analytics project
