Discover Klamath is seeking an energetic, community-minded professional to serve as our Destination Experience Manager. This position plays a key role in connecting visitors, residents, local businesses, and tourism partners with the experiences that make Klamath County a special place to live, work, and visit.
REPORTS TO: CEO; also accountable to the Board of Trustees and Klamath County lodging properties. PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIESVisitor Experience Serve as the primary point of contact for visitors, providing destination information and recommendations. Lead visitor engagement initiatives, including feedback collection and experience improvements. Oversee the distribution of visitor guides, maps, and promotional materials, ensuring accessibility. Manage Visitor Center resources, displays, collateral, and vendor relationships. Destination Programs and Partnerships Build and maintain relationships with tourism partners, local businesses, producers, makers, and community stakeholders. Coordinate visitor and partner information requests. Lead partnership-driven initiatives that support destination development and community engagement. Support destination development initiatives and community partnerships. Develop strong relationships with local businesses, organizations, and community partners to identify opportunities for collaboration and program growth. Programs & Operations Support the planning and coordination of community events, tourism programs, and industry initiatives. Develop and implement operational improvements and new visitor-focused programs. Coordinate with vendors, partners, and community organizations to ensure programs are delivered effectively, on time, and within budget. Support participant and vendor recruitment, communications, onboarding, and ongoing relationship management for Discover Klamath programs and events. Coordinate event and program logistics, including setup, operations, troubleshooting, and participant support. Maintain accurate program records and assist with administrative and financial tracking as needed. Assist with other Discover Klamath programs and initiatives as needed. MEASUREMENT STANDARDSMeet quarterly and annual agreed-upon goals. Complete work within established deadlines and budgets. Maintain strong working relationships with community and tourism partners. Be knowledgeable about Klamath County venues, attractions, lodging, dining, recreation, and entertainment, and act as a Klamath County ambassador in all areas.
REQUIREMENTS: Must be passionate about our community and what it has to offer. Experience coordinating events, programs, markets, or other community-based activities. Strong organizational and project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple deadlines, priorities, and projects simultaneously. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with local businesses, producers, makers, community organizations, and tourism partners. Ability to coordinate event and program logistics, troubleshoot issues, and respond effectively to changing needs during live events and programs. Proven strengths in multitasking and organization, with knowledge of the Klamath County area and hospitality/tourism industry preferred. Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, Power Point, and Google Workspace. Experience with CRM platforms and other systems management is preferred. Ability to work effectively in both shared and private workspaces. Ability to travel locally and work evenings and weekends as required. Regular Saturday availability is required May through October to support seasonal programs, events, and operational needs. Physical/Sensory/
Cognitive Requirements: Ability to sit at a desk, operate a computer keyboard, and view a computer screen for 6–8 hours per day, as required. Ability to set up and tear down event or tradeshow booths, equipment, and marketing materials. Ability to hear and converse via telephone and in person.
