Develop and implement effective processes and programs intended to reduce safety risk to SET employees and other stakeholdersDevelop, review and update safety and health programs and procedures for SET and SET clientsAssist in measuring safety performance of employees and communicating performance to managementHelp establish, update, and conduct safety program orientation and training for new and current employeesOversee and participates in the safety inspection / audit programIdentify and analyze recognized workplace hazards and implement corrective actions to minimize occurrence and severity of incidents and injuriesPerform accident, incident and injury investigationsConduct and assist with regularly scheduled safety meetings at Chicago area managed locationsAssist with development, review and revision of SET safety incentive and employee recognition programsContinually pursue increased knowledge, skills and professional developmentMonitor OSHA, DOT and EPA requirements on an ongoing basis to ensure SET compliance with applicable regulationsWill perform other miscellaneous duties as necessaryPOSITION REQUIREMENTSBachelor's Degree with minimum of five (5) years related experience in hazardous materials or safety fieldKnowledge of and ability to use effective management principles including leadership, planning, and proven ability to successfully implement policy, programs or directivesExcellent oral and written communication skillsHigh degree of enthusiasm and self-motivationExcellent organizational skills and strong attention to detailCertification in Safety and Hazardous Materials field, such as: Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) and Certified Environmental Trainer (CET) Good working knowledge of OSHA, DOT and RCRA regulationsAbility to develop and maintain a positive attitude towards safety within all levels of the organization
