Role Description: The Senior Quality Assurance Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill Area. This role is responsible for leading the quality assurance function across product development, manufacturing, and packaging for organic and natural consumer products. Day-to-day responsibilities include designing and maintaining quality systems, establishing testing protocols, overseeing inspections and audits, and ensuring compliance with USDA organic and other regulatory standards. The Senior Quality Assurance Manager will collaborate with R&D, operations, and supply chain teams to resolve quality issues, manage nonconformances, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. This role also includes training and mentoring quality staff, managing documentation and certifications, and supporting customer and retailer quality requirements.
Qualifications: Experience in quality management and quality assurance for consumer products, preferably in cleaning, laundry, or health & beauty categories. Proficiency with quality systems and standards, including regulatory and certification requirements for organic, natural, and environmentally friendly products. Strong skills in process improvement, root cause analysis, and corrective and preventive action (CAPA) implementation. Ability to lead cross-functional collaboration with manufacturing, R&D, supply chain, and customer service teams. Proven experience managing audits, inspections, and third-party certifications in a production or manufacturing environment. Excellent documentation, data analysis, and reporting skills to monitor product performance, defects, and trends. Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, engineering, quality management, or a related field; advanced degree or professional quality certification (e.g., ASQ) is a plus. Demonstrated leadership experience, including coaching and developing quality team members, with a commitment to safety, integrity, and sustainability. Comfort working on-site in a office and manufacturing setting within the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill Area.
