The Mechanical Assembler 1 (Temporary) will be responsible for timely and accurate assembly of assigned product(s), troubleshooting and repairing of mechanical assemblies and systems that meet current configuration as defined by engineering. Work includes new product assembly, refurbished components/assemblies, testing, engineering prototype support, and building maintenance.

The Position: (Summary):The Mechanical Assembler 1 (Temporary) will be responsible for timely and accurate assembly of assigned product(s), troubleshooting and repairing of mechanical assemblies and systems that meet current configuration as defined by engineering. Work includes new product assembly, refurbished components/assemblies, testing, engineering prototype support, and building maintenance.
Minimum Essential Requirements: Assemble sub-assemblies, final assemblies, and systems per manufacturing drawings, Bill of Materials, schematics, and instructionsOperate hand tools and small power tools and understand their use and functionAbility to learn how to use precision measuring tools and learn fitments/tolerancesBasic knowledge of pneumatic schematics, symbols, and plumbing. Ability to learn water/hydraulic schematics, symbols, and plumbing. Inspect all work before passing it on to the next operationPerform required repairs/refurbishments to return assembly to operational stateKeep supervisor informed of all potential issues for quick resolutionProvide support to the production supervisor on all production assignments, and work with other departments regarding special work assignmentsConduct inventory cycle countsAdhere to all safety policies and guidelinesMust own basic hand tools (wrenches, sockets, hammers, screw drivers, pliers, etc) and keep tools at workOther tasks as assignedPreferred Key Requirements: Experience assembling capital equipmentExperience in the tire and rubber industry is a plusTrain and progress in the ability to build equipment by reading/interpreting blueprints, schematics, assembly instructions, work orders, engineering drawings/models, etc. to enable production of parts consistent with current engineering configurationGood problem-solving skills, strong digital and analog skills, ability to troubleshoot in a logical mannerMachine shop experience using milling machine and lathe is a plusWelding/soldering/brazing experience is a plusTow motor experience is a plusOverhead crane experience is a plusFlexibility with customers' changing requirements, available to work overtime as needed, including weekends
Experience and Education
Experience: 2-5 years' experience in machine building with thorough knowledge and understanding of blueprints, preferably in a manufacturing environment
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; or relevant job-specific experienceCommunication: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal communicationTechnology: Effective use of Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel) Position will require daily utilization of Microsoft Teams, D365, and Microsoft Office Suite
Travel Requirements: None required/ There can be occasional requests for service help from the shop floor
