Accounts Payable Specialist

Pay: $22–$27 per hourA company in Northern New Jersey is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join its finance team. This role supports invoice and payment processing, maintains accurate financial records, and assists with month-end accounting activities.

Responsibilities: Review and process vendor invoices accurately and on time. Match invoices with purchase orders and supporting documents, resolving discrepancies. Assign appropriate account codes and process payments and expense reports. Reconcile vendor statements and investigate outstanding balances. Maintain organized accounts payable records and vendor files. Respond to vendor and internal inquiries about payment status. Assist with month-end close, journal entries, and account reconciliations. Support additional accounting projects as needed.

Qualifications: At least three years of accounts payable experience. Understanding of bookkeeping and basic accounting principles. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including lookups, pivot tables, and basic formulas. Experience with accounting or ERP software. Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills. High school diploma required; a degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration is preferred.

Compensation and benefits: The pay range is $22–$27 per hour.
