The Senior Patient Care Coordinator is responsible for the completion of set processes and protocols, working cooperatively with all members of the care team to support the vision and mission of the organization, delivering excellent customer service and adhering to Lean processes, and supporting the teams in meeting financial, clinical and service goals.
Hours: Monday through Friday 8am-5pm
Location: 6340 Barnes Rd, Colorado Springs, CO 80922
Primary Responsibilities: Greets patients as they arrive and manages wait time Complete check-in and check-out tasks to include insurance verification, complete pre-authorizations and/or precertification of procedures, and copy required documents Collects co-payments, co-insurance, and deductibles and issues receipts Manages cashier box and daily deposits according to company policies Leading other members of the team Processes walk-in patients and visitors Answers phones and schedules appointments Answer telephone calls, re-direct calls as appropriate, assist callers with questions or concerns, and take messages as needed Manages medical records (maintains, files/scans, prepares for schedule)Ensures all correspondence is scanned and/or filed, processes requests for medical records release and maintains appropriate logs, etc Establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public Demonstrates great depth of knowledge/skills in own function Sometimes acts as a technical resource to others in own function Proactively identifies solutions to non-standard requests Solves moderately complex problems on own Works with team to solve complex problems Plans, prioritizes, organizes and completes work to meet established objectives May coordinate work of other team members Performs all other related duties as assigned What are the reasons to consider working for United Health Group? Required Qualifications: High School Diploma / GED2+ years of customer service or healthcare related experience Intermediate level of proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook, including the ability to use multiple web applications
Preferred Qualifications: 1+ years of leadership experience 1+ years of related scheduling experience in a healthcare setting 1+ years of experience handling and triaging of telephone calls and a multi-system phone line Knowledge of EMR software Bilingual in Spanish and English
Soft Skills: Ability to work independently and as a team, and maintain good judgment and accountability Demonstrated ability to work well with health care providers Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks to meet all deadlines Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to speak clearly and concisely, conveying information in a manner that others can understand, as well as ability to understand and interpret information from others Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $20.00 to $36.00 per hour based on full-time employment.
