Pathologists' Assistant (ASCP REQUIRED)

Job Summary: A Pathologists Assistant is a trained allied health professional who provides anatomic pathology services under the direction and supervision of a pathologist. Pathologists Assistants contribute to the overall efficiency of the laboratory by performing a variety of tasks, consisting primarily of routine gross examination of surgical pathology specimens and providing assistance in the performance of autopsies and preparations of case conferences. Required Education Baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college/university AND successful completion of a NAACLS accredited Pathologists' Assistant program within the last five years. Baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college/university with 20 semester hours (30 quarter hours) of biology, AND three (3) years full time acceptable experience as a Pathologists' Assistant within the last ten years. The three years of experience must be under the supervision of a pathologist (certified by the American Board of Pathology in Anatomic Pathology). Preferred Education N/A Required Certifications & Licensure Pathologists' Assistant (American Society for Clinical Pathology) Must have updated immunization records, and pass a background check and drug screen
