Archer is an aerospace company based in San Jose, California building an all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft with a mission to advance the benefits of sustainable air mobility. We are dedicated to cultivating an equitable and inclusive environment that embraces our differences, and supports and celebrates all of our team members.What You'll Do:Design test and integration fixtures/assemblies supporting flight-critical electromechanical actuation systems, from concept through experimental flight testingDesign detailed metallic parts and assemblies supporting actuation and propulsion system integrationDefine and execute test plans to clear hardware for safety of flight on prototype aircraftDesign structural proof-load fixtures to validate and clear flight hardwarePartner with flight hardware design engineers to develop novel test benches for validating new hardware (Focused on tilt systems, actuation, and propulsion integration)Perform initial structural analysis and hand calculations to verify component margins, load paths, and interface requirementsInterface with suppliers to select COTS components (mounts, fasteners, brackets, etc.) where appropriateCreate and review technical drawings, plans, and specificationsSupport requirements development and documentationCollaborate closely with a multi-disciplinary engineering teamWhat You Need:5+ years of engineering experienceBachelor's degree in Mechanical EngineeringExposure to integrating or designing flight critical systemsProficient in CAD (Solidworks, NX, etc.) - NX preferredAbility to manage CAD and complex assemblies in Team CenterProficient in load analysis, free body diagrams, and FEAExperience designing complex metallic parts and weldmentsFluent in GD&T and creating manufacturing drawingsFamiliarity with aerospace hardware standardsHands-on experience in multiple technical fields especially those related to carbon composite and metallic structuresAbility to communicate effectively and clearlyBonus Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)Knowledge of, and experience within, electric powertrain systems or aerospace systems. Actual compensation offered will be determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
