We have a direct hire, full time, permanent opening for an experienced Concast Technician in Delavan. This is an opportunity to work 2nd shift, hours: Monday-Friday (12pm 8pm). Success in this role could set you up to advance within the company, a global industry leader. Your future starts here! Produce metal castings and continuous cast bar stock. Prepare concast unit equipment for a specific metal continuous casting operation. Prepare and set up sandcast molds for proprietary discreet casting operation. Melting and pouring of molten metals. Knock out sand castings. Weigh and prepare metal charges. Measure and record pertinent data. Cut off and dress finish castings. Operate band saws and various power tools. Operate and monitor all functions of the continuous casting operation. Assemble, install, and align dies in preparation for a continuous casting operation. Operate Fork Truck. Operate chip drier. Operate bridge crane. Assist with other miscellaneous related duties as assigned. Ability to work in extreme heat temperatures. Ability to read, write, and process all instructions, written or verbal. Ability to use lifting and moving equipment as required. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Quality oriented mindset, with a high level of attention to detail. Ability to complete all tasks in a safe and accurate manner. Basic computer skills. Willingness to work overtime as needed and alter hours as business needs dictate. A high school diploma or equivalent preferred.1-2 years of experience in foundry or manufacturing experience preferred. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand and use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is required to work in a hazardous environment. The noise level in the work environment can be occasionally high. Employee must be able to work other than normal scheduled hours when metal casting operations are scheduled, including some weekends. Schedules when metal casting may be up to 12 hours. Employee must be able to perform physical work in a high-temperature environment. Employee must also be able to work nearby high-magnetics fields. Pacemakers or other similar implanted devices may be affected. Specific PPE is required within the cell.
