Position Summary:
The Vice President of Environmental Health Safety is responsible for setting the strategic direction for the company’s environmental, health, and safety programs. This role leads the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of systems that reduce risk, strengthen compliance, and promote a strong safety culture across operations. Working collaboratively with senior leadership and cross-functional teams, the Vice President of Environmental Health Safety will ensure regulatory requirements are met, drive operational excellence through measurable performance, and lead incident prevention efforts that protect employees and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide enterprise-level leadership for environmental, health, and safety strategy, policies, and program execution.
Ensure compliance with applicable environmental and workplace safety regulations and internal standards; guide audits, assessments, and corrective actions.
Direct incident prevention and risk management processes, including investigations, root-cause analysis, and implementation of sustainable corrective measures.
Partner with Operations and other business functions to embed safety and environmental requirements into daily work processes and planning.
Build and lead the EHS team, establishing clear performance expectations, training priorities, and accountability across locations.
Required Qualifications:
- Extensive leadership experience in environmental health and safety, with direct responsibility for program strategy, compliance, and risk reduction.
- Strong knowledge of applicable workplace safety and environmental regulations, with demonstrated ability to drive compliance outcomes.
- Proven experience leading incident investigations and translating findings into effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and partner with executive and operational teams to foster a culture of safety.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex EHS information clearly to varied audiences.
- MUST HOLD CSP, GSP, MSP safety credentials.
- Must hold Bachelor's DegreeTravel required is about 50%Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing safety for field-based or service-oriented operations with a focus on operational readiness and practical implementation.
- Experience conducting safety audits, leading training programs, and building performance-based safety processes.
- Familiarity with safety reporting and safety metric frameworks used to drive continuous improvement.
- Leadership experience building safety culture through engagement, accountability, and standardized operating practices.
- Previous experience serving as an Owner's Representative or Owner's Safety Consultant.
- Experience supporting projects managed by major construction management firms.
- Experience on large-scale industrial, mission-critical, or utility infrastructure projects.
