CNC Machinist – 2nd ShiftWe're partnering with a well-established manufacturer in the Youngstown area that is looking to add skilled CNC Machinists to its growing team. This is an opportunity to join a stable operation with very low turnover, modern machining equipment, overtime opportunities, and long-term career potential. The company manufactures precision-machined components used in critical industries, including power generation and mining. They are looking for machinists who understand the machining process and can contribute to quality, productivity, and continuous improvement.
What You'll Do:
  • Set up, operate, and adjust CNC machining equipment
  • Work from blueprints, drawings, and work instructions to produce precision-machined components
  • Perform machine setups, tooling changes, and program adjustments as needed
  • Edit and verify existing CNC programs
  • Select proper tooling, speeds, and feeds for machining operations
  • Inspect finished parts using precision measuring equipment to ensure conformance to specifications
  • Troubleshoot machining and quality issues
  • Complete production and quality documentation
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
  • Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements
What We're Looking For:
  • 3+ years of CNC machining experience preferred
  • Ability to perform machine setups independently
  • Experience reading and interpreting blueprints and engineering drawings
  • Strong understanding of machining practices, tooling, tolerances, speeds, and feeds
  • Experience using precision measuring tools, including:
Micrometers CalipersBore GaugesDepth Micrometers Tape Measures Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability Vocational machining training, apprenticeship, or technical education is a plus Experience with Mazak equipment or Mazatrol controls is beneficial but not required This Role Is Ideal For Someone Who: Wants to be a machinist, not just a machine operator Enjoys working with precision components and tight tolerances Takes ownership of setup, quality, and troubleshooting Wants a long-term opportunity with a stable employer Values teamwork, safety, and craftsmanship
