Jordan Valley EMS Authority is hiring: Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic in East Jordan

What You’ll Do: As a JVEMSA Paramedic, you will:* Respond to 911 emergency calls* Provide high-quality Advanced Life Support care* Perform comprehensive patient assessments* Administer medications within scope and protocol* Provide advanced airway management* Perform cardiac monitoring and 12-lead ECG acquisition and interpretation* Provide cardiac arrest and resuscitation care* Safely operate ambulances and emergency vehicles* Complete accurate and timely electronic patient care reports* Provide professional patient handoffs to receiving facilities* Work collaboratively with EMTs, fire departments, law enforcement, dispatch, hospitals, and other public safety partners* Maintain readiness of ambulances, medical equipment, medications, and stations* Participate in QA/QI activities* Participate in training, skills maintenance, and continuing education* Support the professional and operational standards of JVEMSARequired Qualifications Applicants must have:* Current Michigan Paramedic License, or ability to obtain prior to employment* Current BLS certification* Current ACLS certification* PALS certification, or ability to obtain within 60 days of employment* Valid driver’s license* Acceptable driving record* Ability to successfully complete required background screening* Ability to successfully complete drug screening and fit-for-duty requirements* Strong communication and interpersonal skills* Ability to remain calm and function effectively in emergency situations

Preferred Qualifications: Preference may be given to candidates with:* Experience in a 911 EMS system* NIMS/ICS 100, 200, 700, and 800* Experience with mechanical CPR devices such as LUCAS* Strong cardiac and resuscitation experience* Interest in community paramedicine* Interest in special operations, rescue, tactical EMS, disaster response, or other advanced EMS programs* Experience working in a team-based public safety environment ScheduleJVEMSA utilizes a combination of:* 12-hour shifts* 24-hour shifts* Day shifts* Night shifts* Weekends and holidays as scheduled Overtime opportunities may be available.
