HSE Coordinator (2nd Shift) – York, PALunova Group is seeking a hands-on HSE Coordinator to support a large-scale industrial manufacturing operation in York, PA. About the Role: This is a long-term 2nd shift position with core hours of 2:00–10:00 PM, with flexibility to work 3:00–11:00 PM or 4:00–12:00 AM based on preference and plant needs. The HSE Coordinator will spend the majority of their time on the plant floor (~70%), partnering closely with employees and leaders to drive a proactive safety culture. This is a hands-on role focused on engagement, risk identification, and continuous improvement—not a desk-based compliance position. You’ll play a key role in ensuring regulatory compliance while also influencing daily behaviors, strengthening safety ownership, and helping the operation run safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a visible safety presence on the floor, coaching and engaging employees and leaders in real time
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA standards (with exposure to MSHA and EPA as a plus) as well as state and local regulations
  • Lead and support risk assessments, Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), and hazard identification efforts
  • Investigate incidents, near misses, and injuries; drive root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Deliver safety training, including new hire orientation and ongoing employee education
  • Conduct audits, inspections, and ergonomic assessments to identify and mitigate risk
  • Maintain HSE metrics, reports, and compliance documentation
  • Support environmental reporting, permitting, and audit readiness as needed
  • Partner with operations to improve processes, reduce risk, and strengthen overall safety performance
  • Contribute to safety management systems and continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Engineering, or a related field is required
  • Interest in pursuing CSP (company support available)3–5+ years of hands-on HSE experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
  • Experience in manufacturing, general industry, or environments with mobile equipment and heavy material handling
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations
  • Experience with audits, incident investigations, and risk assessments
  • Comfortable working on the floor and engaging directly with employees and leadership
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and hold others accountable
Preferred: GSP or ASP certification (or actively working toward certification)
Exposure to MSHA and/or EPA regulations
