Field Service Technician — Livingston, NJ (Hybrid) We are excited to announce that Nanion Inc. USA is hiring! We’re looking to hire a Field Service Technician (FST) to support the growing demand for Nanion products and to provide premium customer service.
About the role: This is a lab-based technical role. You'll spend most of your time in our Livingston facility repairing and refurbishing instruments, supporting our field service engineers remotely while they're on-site with customers, and managing spare parts to keep our instruments running. Occasional travel, typically for preventive maintenance visits, rounds out the job, but this is not a road warrior position. If you like solving problems at the bench, owning your work, and being the person the field team calls when they're stuck, this is a good fit.
What you'll do:
  • Diagnose, repair, and refurbish instruments, modules, and electronic circuit boards in our Livingston lab - Provide remote technical support by phone, email, and video to customers and to our field service engineers - Manage spare parts: track inventory, process return merchandise authorizations (RMAs), prepare and ship parts and loaner units - Perform preventive maintenance and occasional on-site service at customer sites (roughly 15–25% travel, mostly domestic) - Document all service work accurately in service reports, logs, and our ticketing system - Support instrument setup, testing, and validation in our demo lab - Help maintain service documentation and troubleshooting guides
What we're looking for:
  • An associate’s or bachelor’s degree in electronics, electrical engineering, biomedical engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience - At least one year of experience servicing electronic, electromechanical, or scientific instrumentation - Comfortable with schematics, multimeters, oscilloscopes, and board-level troubleshooting - Strong written and verbal communication skills in English — you'll be documenting your work and walking engineers through fixes remotely - Organized and detail-oriented, particularly around parts tracking and service records - Able to work independently and as part of a small, collaborative, multicultural team - Valid driver's license and passport, with the ability to travel occasionally - Must be authorized to work in the US
Nice to have:
  • Experience with laboratory or analytical instrumentation (electrophysiology, microscopy, liquid handling, robotics) - Familiarity with fluidics, pneumatics, or precision motion systems - Experience with a customer relationship management (CRM) system or field service ticketing platform To apply Send your CV and a brief cover note to
