Principal Accountabilities:
Adjunct faculty teach curriculum developed by thedepartment
Plan and organize instruction in ways which maximize studentlearning
Prepare and provide syllabi for all assigned sections inaccordance with department and divisional policies
Employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies, useavailable instructional technology when appropriate
Modify, where appropriate, instructional methods and strategiesto meet diverse students’ needs
Support classroom and online efforts to promote studentsuccess
Evaluate and return student work in a timely manner to promotelearning
Maintain accurate records of student progress
Submit final grade rosters according to establisheddeadlines
Maintain confidentiality of student information
Adjunct Faculty cannot be assigned to teach more than themaximum of 12 credit hours per semester
Requirements:
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree with Tested Experience in thecontent area required; master’s degree in music or a master’sdegree with at least 18 semester credit hours of graduatecoursework in the content area preferred
Proven and successful percussion experience, at a variety ofstudent experience levels required
Evidence of successful prior teaching experience ispreferred
Demonstrated commitment to improving student learning throughinnovative strategies shown to help students succeed at the courseand program level
Effective communication skills and interpersonal skills withthe capacity to work successfully in a diverse collegecommunity
Must possess demonstrated skills in using modern educationaltechnology, including multimedia-based instruction
Official transcripts for all post-secondary degrees (ifapplicable) and successful completion of a background check will berequired prior to date of hire.
