Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse

Methodist Health System is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse for our Medical/Surgical unit. In this role, you will deliver evidence-based inpatient nursing care, manage complex patient conditions, administer medications, and coordinate multidisciplinary care plans. You will assess, monitor, and document patient status, educate patients and families, and support safe discharges. Provide direct medical/surgical nursing care to adult inpatients Perform ongoing patient assessments and monitor vital signs Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments safely Develop and implement individualized care plans Coordinate care with physicians and the interdisciplinary team Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the EHR Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, and discharge plans Support quality, safety, and infection-prevention initiatives Respond to changes in patient condition and escalate appropriately Precept and support new staff as needed Medical/surgical nursing care Patient assessment IV therapy and medication administration Wound care management Telemetry and vital sign monitoring Care planning and coordination Electronic health record (EHR) documentation Patient and family education Discharge planning Infection prevention and control Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Active RN license in state of practice BLS certification ACLS certification (or obtained shortly after hire) Medical/Surgical nursing certification (preferred)
