Elementary and Secondary SchoolsAdministration of Education ProgramsEducational Support ServicesElementary Teacher - Special Education Brandywine Springs Elementary School is seeking an Elementary Special Education teacher to create a flexible elementary grade program and a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth; to establish effective rapport with pupils; to motivate pupils to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for elementary grade education, in accordance with each pupil's ability; and to establish good relationships with parents and with other staff members.
Primary Function/Duties Include:
- Design and implement instructional program for students with intellectual disabilities that incorporates students' individualized education program
- Adapting materials based on Individual Student needs
- Develop IEPs and monitor student progress
- Effective implementation of behavioral intervention strategies
- Work collaboratively with psychologist, speech, occupational and physical therapists
- Manage paraprofessional staff assigned to classroom
- Effectively communicate orally and in writing
Qualifications:
Required Certificate(s): Initial, Continuing or Advanced Delaware Licensure Certified K-6 Certification in Special Education
