MS Legal Search's client, a publicly traded company, is seeking an Environmental Counsel to join its legal team in a newly created, high-impact role supporting operations across the U.S.This is a unique opportunity to help build and shape the environmental legal function while working closely with business and operational leadership. The position is open to remote candidates, with a preference for those open to relocation to Texas.
Key Responsibilities:
Advise on environmental regulatory compliance (CAA, CWA, RCRA, CERCLA) Support permitting and operational strategy across multiple jurisdictionsManage environmental litigation and outside counselPartner closely with operations, engineering, and compliance teamsInterface with state, federal, and local regulatorsQualifications:5+ years of environmental law experienceStrong background in federal and state environmental regulationsExperience with solid waste, landfills, transfer stations, or recycling operations preferredPractical, business-oriented approach with strong communication skillsWhy this role: Newly created position with the opportunity to build and shape a key functionStrong growth potential as the role and team evolveHigh visibility with direct interaction across business unitsMeaningful impact on operational and regulatory strategyOpportunity to work on complex, real-world environmental matters
