FOOD SERVICE WORKER, SUBSTITUTE

Facility & Building OperationsServes as a substitute food service worker across District schools, preparing and serving school meals in accordance with food and safety standards. Salary Range $20.25/hr. Click here for more information on compensation for these roles. Prepares or assists in the preparation of a variety of foods in accordance with food and safety standards. Washes, cuts, cooks and or re-heats food items, weighing and measuring ingredients, according to recipes and instructions. Sets up serving lines and serves meal or meal components. Communicates with students and school staff when serving food items. Operates cash register, accepting money and making change for food and beverages served. Cleans and sanitizes dishes, kitchen utensils, equipment and facilities in accordance with approved housekeeping and safety practices and guidelines; performs related kitchen and facility related duties (e.g., laundry, general cleaning). Operates kitchen equipment. Stocks and organizes food related items and kitchen supplies in refrigerators, freezers, walk-in coolers, and store room; stores food and supplies in accordance with instructions and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP). Follows approved housekeeping and safety practices to ensure that safe conditions are maintained in the kitchen, food-serving areas and in dining area. High School Diploma/GED preferred.
