This role involves conducting investigations, interviews, and surveillance to substantiate facts and support cases managed by the Violent Felony Offense Bureau. Employees work under established policies and direct supervision of the Chief District Attorney Investigator, are required to be on‐call at all times, and are not responsible for supervising others.
Responsibilities:
Investigate violent felony offenses, including gathering evidence, conducting interviews, and surveillance. Document findings and support case preparation for the Violent Felony Offense Bureau. Operate under agency policies and direct supervision of the Chief District Attorney Investigator. Be on‐call at all times, and perform related work as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalency; plus one of the following: Seven years of paid full‐time (or part‐time equivalent) police officer experience involving specialized investigative work (rape, robbery, homicide, arson, assault, burglary), or Seven years of paid full‐time (or part‐time equivalent) police officer experience at the Sergeant level or higher; or An equivalent combination of education and experience as defined by the limits above.
Special Requirements:
Possession of a Police Officer Training Certificate issued by the New York State Bureau for Municipal Police Training Council at time of appointment. Must be a United States Citizen at time of appointment. Possession of a valid class D license to operate a motor vehicle in New York State at time of application.
