Senior Estimator (Metal Panel)

Key Responsibilities: The candidate will be responsible for: Analyzing architectural drawings, specifications, and addenda to develop clear, complete, and accurate scopes of work. Preparing detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for architectural metal panel systems. Reviewing bid invitations and assessing project suitability, risk profile, and required resources. Evaluating project-specific performance requirements and selecting appropriate systems and manufacturers. Identifying value engineering opportunities and proposing alternate panel systems or materials. Soliciting, reviewing, and evaluating vendor, manufacturer, and subcontractor pricing. Maintaining awareness of market conditions, material pricing trends, and lead times. Vendor & System Selection Identifying, qualifying, and evaluating metal panel manufacturers, fabricators, and material suppliers. Coordinating early with vendors to confirm compatibility of selected panel systems with project design. Recommending design modifications or alternate panel systems when necessary. Collaboration & Communication Working closely with project management and operations teams to close awarded projects. Coordinating with general contractors, owners, and design teams throughout the bidding process. Representing the company at pre-bid meetings, site walks, and bid interviews as required. Process Management & Documentation Maintaining organized estimate files, bid logs, and historical cost data. Ensuring all estimates and proposals are complete, accurate, and submitted on time. Tracking scope changes through addenda and communicating revisions promptly. Contributing to the development and refinement of internal estimating tools. Leadership, Workload Management & Mentorship Managing workload across multiple concurrent bids. Coordinating with senior leadership to plan estimating resources. Providing guidance and mentorship to junior estimators and interns. Supporting project management teams post-award with estimate clarifications and budget validation. Helping establish best practices within the estimating department.
