It is scheduled 5 days per week at 7 hours per day.
SALARY:
$14.21/hr. The salary includes compensation for hours worked (holidays are not paid).
BENEFITS:
This position is eligible for employee only medical insurance as well as two sick days and.5 personal day per semester.
REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or GED required.
SUMMARY:
The In-School Suspension Monitor is responsible for supervising students assigned to the in-school suspension program and maintaining a structured, respectful, and academically focused environment. The ISS Monitor works collaboratively with teachers, administrators, counselors, and support staff to ensure students remain engaged in coursework while promoting positive behavior and accountability.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Other duties may be assigned. Supervise and monitor students assigned to in-school suspension throughout the school day. Maintain a safe, orderly, and structured environment conducive to learning and academic productivity. Collect assignments, instructional materials, and coursework from teachers for students assigned to ISS.Ensure students complete assigned academic work and follow established classroom expectations and behavioral guidelines. Return completed assignments and materials to appropriate teachers in a timely manner. Monitor student behavior and document attendance, conduct, and disciplinary concerns as required. Communicate effectively with administrators, teachers, counselors, and parents/guardians regarding student progress and behavior when appropriate. Reinforce school policies, procedures, and expectations consistently and fairly. Encourage respectful behavior, personal responsibility, and positive decision-making among students. Maintain confidentiality regarding student records and disciplinary matters in accordance with school policies and FERPA regulations. Maintain regular attendance.
JOB SPECIFIC SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to perform basic computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office products and Google systems. Demonstrate a genuine passion for working with students and a strong desire to support their growth, development, and success. Build positive relationships with students and encourages them to reach their full potential. Requires the ability to manage student behavior in a calm, respectful, and consistent manner. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, and the school community. Ability to perform job duties with minimal supervision, demonstrating sound judgment, initiative, and reliability in managing tasks and meeting deadlines. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form. Ability to perform duties with awareness of and in compliance with related corporation policies and state requirements.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Some college preferred. Experience with students in a school setting preferred. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: None.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and comprehend correspondence, memos, instructions, and documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals. Ability to write correspondence clearly and concisely using correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Ability to speak effectively with good grammar before groups of people and with individuals.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, and/or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
