The Role: Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. A legal role covering commercial contracts and the legal questions that come with building electronic products, from deal negotiation through the product lifecycle. It suits a self-directed lawyer who is comfortable owning matters end to end on a compact legal team.
What You'll Do: Negotiate and draft commercial agreements with customers and partners, including supply, development and licensing terms. Advise on legal questions across the product lifecycle, such as intellectual property ownership, safety, regulation, privacy, security and liability. Produce standard agreement forms, guidance documents and internal policies, then coach colleagues on their use. Strong customer-facing manner and the ability to hold firm positions in negotiations with major partners. Comfort moving between commercial and product work without a fixed split. Self-direction and sound judgment, with the ability to escalate appropriately without close supervision. Familiarity with legal questions around privacy, AI, security, product compliance or new technology. Willingness to travel to company offices in the United States.
Bonus Points: Three to four years of in-house commercial or product counsel experience after firm training. A law degree from a highly regarded law school. Previous in-house legal work at a product company in hardware, chips, optics, immersive technology or industrial manufacturing.
