Job Description About UsFlorida Infrastructure is a growing company focused on building and maintaining critical infrastructure across the region. Our team relies on a fleet of diesel trucks and heavy equipment to keep projects moving efficiently. We're looking for a dependable Diesel Mechanic who takes pride in keeping equipment running safely and reliably.
Position Overview:
The Diesel Mechanic will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel trucks and heavy equipment used in daily operations. This role plays a key part in ensuring our fleet stays operational, safe, and ready to support ongoing infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on diesel trucks and equipment
- Perform preventative maintenance including oil changes, brake inspections, and system checks
- Repair engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, and other components
- Inspect vehicles and equipment to ensure they meet safety standards
- Use diagnostic tools to identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues
- Maintain accurate service records and repair documentation
- Communicate with management regarding repair timelines and equipment needs
- Follow all safety procedures and shop best practices
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of diesel mechanic or heavy equipment mechanic experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines and truck systems
- Experience using diagnostic tools and mechanical repair equipment
- Ability to read repair manuals and technical documentation
- Valid driver's license required (CDL is a plus)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a shop environment
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills Preferred Experience
- Experience working on commercial trucks or heavy equipment
- DOT inspection experience
- ASE or other mechanical certifications
