• Retail General Manager Responsibilities What You'll Do Store Operations & Business Performance Lead daily store operations and execute strategies to achieve sales, profitability, productivity, and customer service goals .
• Manage store P&L, expenses, labor, inventory, cash control, and operational resources.
• Analyze sales, inventory, labor, and customer data to identify opportunities and improve business results.
• Drive sales growth, market share, BOPIS, online orders, and omnichannel engagement .
• Oversee merchandising, pricing, inventory accuracy, product availability, and store presentation.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. Leadership & Associate Development Recruit, hire, onboard, coach, and develop Assistant Store Managers, Department Managers, and associates .
• Set performance expectations, provide feedback, recognize results, and address performance opportunities.
• Build a positive, high-performing team and develop talent for succession and career growth .
• Lead by example and reinforce Rural King's leadership principles and values. Customer Experience & Community Deliver an exceptional customer experience through strong service, product knowledge, and sales execution.
• Build the store's local presence through social media, store events, vendor partnerships, customer training, and community engagement .
• Monitor customer feedback and trends to improve service and store performance. Safety, Compliance & Loss Prevention Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and compliant store environment.
• Lead efforts to reduce shrink, inventory loss, operational risk, and cash discrepancies .
• Ensure accurate inventory, pricing, cash controls, and asset protection practices.
• Maintain the building, grounds, equipment, and merchandise to company standards.
