Job Description
Job Title: Software Architect - Consultant
The South Carolina Judicial Branch (SCJB) is seeking an experienced Senior Application Developer tosupport the ongoing maintenance, enhancement, and operational stability of its current Case Management System (CMS) and the Juror Management System (JMS) built on CA Plex. This role is responsible for ensuring the continuity of mission-critical court operations by maintaining and extending existing functionality, supporting integrations with internal and external systems, and assisting with data quality and performance improvements. The selected candidate will work in parallel with modernization efforts, ensuring the current platformremains secure, reliable, and responsive to evolving business needs until full transition to modernrchitecture is achieved.
Job Duties:
  • 1. Application Maintenance & SupportMaintain and support the CA Plex-based CMS across multiple environments
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, defects, and data anomalies
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement sustainable fixes
  • Provide on-call or escalation support for critical system issues2. Feature Enhancements & Business Logic Updates
  • Design, develop, and implement enhancements within the CA Plex model
  • Modify existing: o Business rules o Screens and workflows o Batch processes and reports
  • Ensure all changes align with judicial policies and statutory requirements3. CA Plex Model Development
  • Work directly within the CA Plex development environment to: o Update objects, functions, and relationships o Regenerate and deploy application components
  • Maintain integrity of the model-driven architecture as the system evolves4. Database & Data Integrity Management
  • Write and optimize SQL Server (T-SQL) queries, stored procedures, and data fixes
  • Support: o Data corrections (e.g., invalid dates, missing relationships) o Performance tuning for large datasets (millions of records)
  • Ensure data accuracy across integrated systems5. System Integration SupportMaintain and support integrations with: o Law enforcement (e.g., SLED) o DMV eDisposition o eCitation systems o Public Index and eFiling platforms
  • Assist in adapting legacy I/O processes as APIs are introduced Statement of Work (SOW) Knowledge Services6. Reporting & Data Support
  • Support reporting needs by: o Developing queries and extracts o Assisting with data feeds into the Data Warehouse
  • Collaborate with analytics teams to ensure data consistency7. Collaboration & Stakeholder Support
  • Work closely with: o Court Administration o IT leadership and development teams
  • Translate business requirements into technical updates within the CMS8. Documentation & Knowledge Transfer
  • Document: o System changes o Business rules o Technical processes
  • Assist in knowledge transfer to internal staff and modernization teams
  • Required Skills, Education and/or Certifications:
