Senior Music Retail Sales Associate

Music & Arts is seeking a part-time Senior Sales Associate to deliver exceptional customer service in our retail store. You’ll guide students, parents, and educators in selecting band and orchestra instruments, rentals, accessories, and lessons that support their musical goals. Responsibilities include consultative sales, POS transactions, merchandising, inventory support, and promoting lessons and repair services. You will collaborate with teachers and school reps, meet sales goals, uphold store standards, and model our student-focused, community-oriented culture every shift. Provide consultative sales support to students, parents, and educators for instruments, rentals, and accessories Process sales, rentals, returns, and lesson enrollments using POS systems accurately Promote music lessons, repair services, and special programs to meet sales targets Maintain merchandising standards, displays, and product signage Assist with inventory counts, stock replenishment, and incoming shipments Build relationships with local schools, educators, and community music programs Handle customer inquiries and resolve basic issues in a professional manner Stay informed on product features, promotions, and music education offerings Support opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and store security protocols Uphold Music & Arts’ student-focused, inclusive, and service-driven culture Retail sales Customer service Point-of-sale (POS) operation Cash handling Product merchandising Inventory management Music product knowledge Lesson and service upselling Communication Relationship building with educators Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance 401k Retail sales or customer service experience, preferably in music or specialty retail Basic music knowledge or experience playing an instrument strongly preferred Comfort using POS systems and basic retail technology Ability to work retail hours including evenings and weekends
