SUMMARY: The Bank Operations Specialist performs intermediate to advanced operational duties supporting Bank branches, departments, and electronic banking services. Responsibilities span deposit operations, payment processing, electronic banking, treasury management, fraud monitoring, and customer support. The position requires broad knowledge of Bank Operations, provides backup support across multiple functions, and actively participates in cross-training and process improvement initiatives to enhance departmental efficiency and service. ESSENTIAL DUTIES1. Performs intermediate to advanced duties related to operational functions serviced by the department, including but not limited to: ACH Processing, Returns, and Corrections Wire Transfer Processing Non-Posted Item ReviewNSF and Returned Item Processing Chargebacks and Adjustments Cash Letter Processing and Research Balancing/Reconciliation of Various Bank-Owned Accounts Legal Process Handling Dormant Accounts Escheatment Processing Research Requests End of Day Operational Processing 2. Assists with electronic banking and treasury management services, including but not limited to: Business Online Banking AdministrationACH Originator Maintenance Remote Deposit Capture Support Positive Pay Administration Mobile Deposit Administration Treasury Management Maintenance Online Banking Support Treasury and Electronic Banking Client Setup and Maintenance Treasury Customer Onboarding and Training Support 3. Reviews and monitors operational exception reports and system-generated alerts, including but not limited to: ACH Exceptions Positive Pay Exceptions Fraud Monitoring AlertsOFAC- Related Exceptions Mobile Deposit Exceptions Other Operational and Risk Monitoring Reports 4. Responds to internal and external inquiries or refers inquiries to the appropriate department or individual; follows through to ensure timely resolution.5. Processes, researches, and resolves complex operational issues, exception items, and customer service concerns while ensuring timely and accurate resolution.6. Maintains cross-functional knowledge of Bank Operations processes through ongoing training and development to support departmental flexibility and succession planning.7. Assists with fraud-related processes and dispute administration, including but not limited to: Reg E DisputesACH Disputes Check Claims Fraud Case Research and Documentation 8. Assumes responsibility for various department functions in the absence of staff members or during high-volume periods. These responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: Lockbox Processing Incoming and Outgoing Wire Support Treasury Management Support Electronic Banking Support Deposit Operations Functions Operational Monitoring Activities 9. Performs routine reviews of operational work to ensure accuracy, completeness, compliance, and adherence to Bank policies and procedures.10. Assists with data gathering, reporting, audits, examinations, annual reviews, and other department projects as assigned.11. Identifies opportunities for operational improvement, workflow enhancement, and increased efficiency.12. Assures compliance with all Bank policies and procedures and all applicable federal and state banking laws, rules, regulations, and industry requirements.13. Completes administrative tasks accurately and timely; supports the Bank's goals and values; and represents the Bank in a professional manner.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to perform the position in a satisfactory manner. Individual abilities may result in some deviation from these guidelines.3-5 years of related experience and/or training; or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Work related experience should consist of a financial institution clerical and/or branch support background. Educational experience, through in-house training sessions, formal school or financial industry related curriculum, should be business or financial industry related. Intermediate experience, knowledge and training in branch operation activities, terminology and products and services. Basic knowledge of related state and federal banking compliance regulations, and other Bank operational policies. Basic skills in computer terminal and personal computer operation; host computer system; and word processing, spreadsheet and account opening software programs. Basic math skills; calculate interest and balance accounts; add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals; locate routine mathematical errors; count currency, coin and negotiable instruments in a timely manner. Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions, interpret documents, understand procedures, write reports and correspondence, and speak clearly to customers and employees. Ability to deal with difficult problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations. Effective organizational and time management skills. Ability to work with general supervision while performing duties.
