Minimum Requirements:
Education High School diploma or equivalencyExperience One-year experience in healthcare access, customer service, and/or financial settingLicense/Registration/Certifications N/APreferred RequirementsPreferred Education Associates degreePreferred Experience Three years of experience in healthcare access, customer service, and/or financial settingPreferred License/Registration/Certifications N/ACore Job ResponsibilitiesAccurately completes a quality registration in the HIS system that maintains the integrity of demographic and financial information required for clinical and billing functions for every patient encounterResponsible for utilization of time and management of work processes to ensure organizational and departmental expectations are metVerification and review of insurance benefits and financial clearance for all payors at each encounterWorks in conjunction with the Centralized Referral Center to ensure prior authorizations have been obtainedResearch and resolve all registration occurrences for demographic, clinical and insurance accuracyUnderstands and adheres to state and federal regulations and system policies regarding compliance, integrity and ethical registration practicesAccurately complete patient estimate letter and attempt cash collection when applicable and process patient payments for account postingResponsible for practicing AIDET in all customer/patient related encountersReviews and ensures that all medical orders are compliant and meet government and hospital guidelines as well as clinical protocolsCompletes clinical screening for specified modalities to ensure patient safetyEnsures proper utilization of computer systems to facilitate efficient and effective workflow processesAbility to obtain insurance eligibility and benefit information from payors via phone, RTE, or web in order to provide patient with estimated responsibility for services requested or renderedMaintain an accurate cash drawer and functions related to cash drawer reconciliation and depositPerforms other duties assigned by department supervisor or manager
