Master's Thesis collaboration Are you a master’s student looking to explore ocean modeling, environmental impact assessments, or marine simulations? At Oceanbox, we offer collaboration opportunities for students who want to write their master’s thesis in direct partnership with us. You’ll have access to our cutting‑edge tools, datasets, and expert guidance, enabling you to conduct research on topics like ocean currents, particle tracking, and environmental modeling.
We are looking for students who want to contribute to real‑world solutions in ocean sustainability through their thesis. This is a fantastic opportunity to work alongside our team and shape the future of ocean modeling.
Basic qualifications:
Currently enrolled in a master’s program in a relevant field
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
Interest in one or more of the following: Ocean modeling, functional programming or environmental simulations and sustainability
Ability to work independently and in collaboration with a team
Good communication skills in Norwegian and English (written and spoken)
Oceanography Knowledge of physical oceanography, including currents, tides, and stratification
Experience with numerical ocean models (e.g., ROMS, FVCOM, MITgcm)
Experience with oceanographic data analysis and programming
Informatics Strong programming skills (preferable in functional programming)
Experience with API development and handling large datasets
Experience with data structures, algorithms, and optimization techniques
Interessted in High-Performance Computing (HPC) is a plus
