Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities: Own mechanical design for both customer vehicles and the broader modular platform, from concept through CAD to the shop floor. Design complex assemblies with hundreds to thousands of components per vehicle in Siemens NX.Work daily with the in-house technician team, creating work instructions, answering questions, and problem-solving on the floor as designs meet real-world builds. Think at the systems level across mechanical, plumbing, and electrical integration. Iterate quickly, often starting fabrication before design is fully finalized, to keep pace with production demands. Contribute to a module library with standardized attachment points, BOMs, and assembly instructions that can be mixed and matched across verticals. Collaborate with software engineers to explore automation opportunities in design and manufacturing workflows, including parametric design and dynamic BOM generation.

Experience: 7+ years of mechanical design experience, having taken physical products (not just components) from concept through production. Strong CAD skills required; Siemens NX preferred, but Solid Works, CATIA, or similar with willingness to learn NX is acceptable. Demonstrated experience designing for manufacturability, including welded structures, sheet metal, tubed aluminum, and fastening systems. Comfortable working on a shop floor alongside technicians and iterating on designs in real time. Systems-level thinker who can hold an entire vehicle in mind, rather than someone focused on a single subsystem within a large organization. Background in automotive, commercial vehicles, EV, or industrial equipment, with experience handling real-world loads, vibration, water systems, and integration complexity.
