Design Project Manager

Skill Set Group is seeking an experienced Design Project Manager based in the San Gabriel Valley, CA area. This position will be working hands-on project manager for various commercial/QSR construction projects throughout the Southwest US territory. The ideal candidate must have experience with all store design aspects for ground-up builds within the retail/commercial industry. Extensive experience with entitlements & permitting requirements is also a must. This position does require a 4-year degree in Architecture or related field. This position will require 30-50% travel throughout the Southwest US region. This will also be a DIRECT HIRE role. Details Manage the architectural/design side of multiple new store development projects Manage projects from construction documents through construction administration Track schedules, milestones, critical paths, scope, and budgets Review architectural plans for design intent, accuracy, building codes, ADA compliance, and prototype standards Create/review site plans and conceptual drawings Work directly with architects, vendors, Construction, and field teams Support entitlements and permitting Conduct site visits, QC walks, and project/design reviews Identify design issues and develop practical solutions with vendors and field teams Use AutoCAD, Sketch Up, Bluebeam, and Smartsheet Manage several complex projects simultaneously
