Description: American Traveler is hiring an RN for a high-acuity Cardiothoracic ICU position requiring 3 years of cardiac ICU experience and CT or compact RN license. Details Cardiothoracic ICU unit within a Level I Trauma Center, short-term acute care hospital Average patient ratio of 1:2 for both day and night shifts Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours (19:00-7:00) Every other weekend required Not an on-call position Will float to other HVC ICUs within scope Uses Epic charting system
Requirements:
  • Active CT or compact RN license required (pending license accepted)BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required; CCRN preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of Cardiac ICU experience required
  • Previous charge nurse experience required
  • Proficiency with Swan-Ganz (pulmonary artery line) monitoring required
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Level I Trauma Center experience preferred
  • Skilled in ventilator management, arterial line management, central line care, and cardiac drip titration
  • Experience with post cardiac surgery care, CABG, TAVR, and valve repair/replacement patients
  • Experience interpreting and managing dysrhythmias and 12-lead EKG/ECGAdditional Information
  • Provide high-acuity nursing care in a demanding cardiac ICU setting requiring experienced, knowledgeable RNsFirst-time travelers accepted with Cardiothoracic ICU and/or critical care experience
  • Travelers are expected to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities as neededRTO requests greater than 7 days require additional approval
  • Former permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to return as a traveler
  • Local candidates not accepted; must reside more than 75 miles from the hospital
  • Flu vaccine required with no declinations acceptedCOVID vaccine and booster required except for religious or medical exemption
