Vertical Turner

Job Description: Programme, set and operate Vertical Turning / Boring machines Machine low-volume, high-integrity components to tight tolerances Work with a range of materials including nickel alloys, titanium, stainless steels, aluminium and carbon steels Prove out new programs and support continuous improvement activities Interpret engineering drawings and manufacturing documentation Carry out in-process inspection using a variety of measuring equipment Complete route cards and production paperwork accurately Maintain high housekeeping and safety standards Carry out routine machine maintenance checks

Qualifications & Skills: Apprentice trained, Time Served or NVQ Level 3 qualified in Engineering Previous experience programming, setting and operating Vertical Borers or Vertical Turners Strong understanding of engineering drawings and geometric tolerances Experience working within a precision machining environment Ability to machine a variety of materials and maintain high-quality standards Experience with Fanuc or Siemens controls would be advantageous Background within Aerospace, Nuclear, Power Generation or similar industries would be beneficial Package on Offer Competitive hourly rate of £17.82 - £21.17 per hour Overtime paid at 1.5x 33 days holiday including bank holidays Company pension scheme Company sick pay scheme Life insurance
