Shurhold Industries, an established, family-owned American manufacturer of premium boat, RV, and automotive care products, is looking for a hands-on Manufacturing Manager to lead our factory and warehouse team of approximately 16–20 people. Experienced supervisors ready to move into management are encouraged to apply. We value demonstrated ability over a specific number of years or a previous plant-manager title. You’ll report to the COO and oversee brush manufacturing, product assembly, packaging, warehouse operations, and shipping. You’ll have authority to build and manage your team, with support from company leadership and the Maintenance Manager. What you’ll own Safety—always our first priority. Set the example, enforce safe work practices, identify and correct hazards, and ensure employees are trained to work safely. Stop unsafe work and address concerns promptly. Production deadlines never justify compromising safety. The daily schedule. Prepare staffing, materials, equipment, and assignments before the team starts. Keep work moving, employees on task, and production and shipping on schedule. Adjust priorities when conditions change. Your team. Hire, onboard, train, coach, recognize, and hold employees accountable. You have authority to make hiring, disciplinary, and termination decisions in accordance with company policies. SOPs and training. Create, document, and maintain clear standard operating procedures. Train employees to follow them, verify understanding, document training, and cross-train for coverage. Update procedures when processes improve. Quality and organization. Maintain consistent quality, accurate inventory, orderly work areas, and reliable receiving, picking, packing, and shipping. Hands-on support. The Maintenance Manager leads equipment repairs and upkeep. When that person is unavailable or occupied, step in with practical troubleshooting and appropriate minor repairs to help keep the factory flowing. Continuous improvement. Find practical ways to reduce wasted time, material, and effort. Turn good ideas into consistent working practices. Performance and communication. Use Odoo ERP, spreadsheets, and our time-tracking tools to monitor progress. Communicate issues early to the COO, with a clear explanation and proposed solution. What will help you succeed Experience leading a team in manufacturing or a closely related production environment. Excellent organizational skills and dependable follow-through. Strong coaching skills: the ability to teach patiently, motivate employees, and address performance issues fairly and directly. Confidence in making decisions and taking responsibility for your team’s results. Mechanical aptitude, comfort using tools, and a willingness to help on the floor. The ability to document procedures and train people to perform work safely and consistently. Comfort with computers, spreadsheets, and production systems. Odoo experience is helpful. A desire to build a long-term professional home, develop a dependable team, and improve an operation over time. Formal Lean or Six Sigma training is welcome, but practical accomplishments matter more than certification. Your first 90 days Build relationships with the team, learn our products, processes, and systems, and progressively take ownership of daily operations. By the end of that period, you should be confidently organizing the day, keeping the team on schedule, coaching employees, and communicating issues early—with continued support from the COO.Safety and quality are expectations from day one. Salary: 90,000–100,000 annually, depending on experience.
Location: Full-time, on-site in Palm City, Florida. Team schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m. Manager’s schedule: Arrive before the team to open the building and prepare for the day, and remain until the team has finished and the building is secured. This salaried role requires 40+ hours per week. Significant additional hours or overtime shifts are occasional rather than routine.
