Radiation Oncology Licensed Practical Nurse

Cone Health seeks a PRN Radiation Oncology LPN to deliver compassionate, high-quality care to patients undergoing radiation treatment. In this collaborative role, you will provide direct patient care, administer medications, support procedures, and educate patients and families on treatment and symptom management. You’ll work closely with oncologists, RNs, and the care team to coordinate care, ensure safety, and maintain accurate documentation, while contributing to a culture of inclusion, professional growth, and community-focused healthcare. Provide direct nursing support to radiation oncology patients, including assessments, vital signs, and symptom management Administer medications and treatments as ordered, ensuring safety and accurate documentation in the medical record Assist radiation oncologists and RNs with procedures, patient preparation, and coordination of care plans Educate patients and families on treatment processes, side-effect management, and follow-up care Monitor patient responses to therapy and promptly report changes in condition to the care team Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to ensure compassionate, high-quality, and efficient patient care Maintain exam and treatment areas, equipment, and supplies according to clinical and safety standards Adhere to infection control, regulatory, and Cone Health policies while protecting patient privacy (HIPAA) Support scheduling, patient flow, and communication to optimize clinic operations in a PRN role Participate in ongoing professional development and quality improvement initiatives within radiation oncology Radiation oncology clinical support LPN-level patient assessment Medication administration and safety Oncology patient education Electronic medical record documentation Vital signs monitoring and symptom management Infection control and safety protocols Care coordination in outpatient setting Intravenous therapy/line management (per scope) Interdisciplinary team collaboration Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in North Carolina (or compact state eligibility) BLS (Basic Life Support) certification Oncology or radiation oncology experience preferred
