Our Acute Care team spans several units with admission sources from the Emergency Department, PACU, ICUs and direct admissions. Our Post-Surgical Step Down Unit (5 South) is a PRISM award winning unit. Treatment modalities include PCA pumps, TPN/Lipids infusions, continuous bladder irrigation, feeding tubes, nasogastric (NG) and Gastrostomy-jejunostomy (GJ) tube management, heparin and insulin continuous drips, small bore feeding tube management, wound vacuums and surgically placed wound drain management, etc. RESPONSIBLE FOR: The staff nurse provides nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care for patients.

Responsible for the delivery of direct patient care using the nursing process and as defined by the healthcare facility in their unit specific job description. Current unrestricted RN license in the state.. May require lifting to 80 pounds (using proper techniques).. May require standing and walking 2-5 hours at a time.. May have exposure to chemicals, radiation, infectious diseases/waste and/or blood borne pathogens
