The HVAC Technician performs maintenance and repairs on medium to large HVAC systems and controls. Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain HVAC systems including RTUs, heat pumps, DX systems, and control systems.. Disassembling and reassembling parts as needed, making repairs to restore systems to full function.. Document work using mobile technologies and follow customer-specific protocols (e.g., IVR systems, work order logs).. Work is performed in commercial or industrial settings including rooftops, mechanical rooms, and outdoor environments with exposure to noise, chemicals, and moving equipment.

This is a multi-skilled position requiring the development of knowledge and skills in the Plant Operator Qualifications Training Program, as well as development of basic knowledge of plant maintenance (mechanical, electrical, and instrument & controls). Performs job duties safely and adheres to all safety, environmental, and NERC compliance requirements. Hands-on experience with all aspects of power plant operations and maintenance including mechanical maintenance, instrument and electrical systems, and a working knowledge of power cycles is a plus. This includes evaluation of physical condition required to perform in high physical and emotional stress situations involving Confined Space Rescue, HazMat Operations Level, and Incipient Fire Brigade activities.
