Leading the Excess & Surplus Lines property portfolio, the full-time California Licensed SVP Underwriting will optimize underwriting strategy, manage P&L, and build a high-performing team while working remotely from La Jolla, CA.
Key responsibilities: Own the underwriting results and profitability of the E&S Property portfolio, developing a multi-year strategy Establish underwriting guidelines and oversee pricing, risk selection, and exposure management Build and maintain strong relationships with wholesale brokers and identify new distribution opportunities
Required qualifications: 15+ years of commercial property underwriting experience, with 8+ years in E&S/wholesale 5+ years in a senior leadership role managing underwriting teams and a P&L Deep knowledge of property coverages and CAT exposures, along with modeling tools Strong understanding of reinsurance structures and their impact on portfolio management Bachelor's degree in business, finance, risk management, or a related field
